Covenis designs, configures and has installed robust, open and privacy-respecting smart home systems for owners of existing houses.
Our story
Covenis was founded by Frédéric Vanoosthuyze, an executive from the telecommunications and cloud industries and a long-time home automation enthusiast.
After building and evolving his own local smart home, with its servers, network and automations, he set out to make that expertise available to households who want a truly smart home without being locked into an ecosystem or a subscription.
Our principles
Local first
Your automations do not depend on remote servers. They simply work.
Transparency
A clear quote, a written scope and documentation at handover: you know what is installed and why.
Privacy
Cameras and sensors processed locally. We never sell data, ever.
Openness
Open standards (Matter, Zigbee, MQTT): your system stays upgradeable and repairable, with or without us.
Where do we work?
We work on site up to about 100 km driving distance from Castelnau-le-Lez (the configurator confirms your eligibility as soon as you enter your postcode).
